I got it into my head that your not supoosed to eat for 6 hours before

  • is that true ?

In the paper work with this letter , it doesnt say that - but this is a re arranged appt and im sure i read that somewhere previously

No, I’ve had several abdominal ultrasounds for non-pregnancy reasons and never had to fast before.

It may be different depending on what they are looking at. Dd has annual scans of mainly her liver (but they look all over her abdomen). She cant eat solids for 6 hours before but has to drink loads.

Yeah - they are doing a liver one too

I have 2 liver conditions

I’ve never had to fast when they’ve scanned my liver.

If you have issues with bile duct or liver/gallbladder then you should fast for six hours. I have to with the above issues. The hospital will confirm when you ring them on Monday anyway.
