What is best for flossing? Would you recommend inter-dental brushes or a water pick? If it "depends" I can provide a bit more info. Thanks 😊

Not a dentist but I am complimented on my mouth hygiene each year when I have a check up.

I use tape to floss each night before brushing, plus water pik occasionally, day one a week. After the usual routine, tape and brush, I use a plaque disclosing tablet to find any rogue deposits and then water pik floss.

when I first got the waterpik, I used a disclosing table each time I used it to check any parts I kept missing til I could be sure my technique was good

so my answer to your question is need both floss/tape and waterpik

.

My teeth are very close together, the inter dental brushes are imo useless .

The reason I asked between the two is because I'm not a massive fan of the tape! I find it really awkward to use and I always cut myself with it. I know that's supposed to get better the more you use it and your gum health improves but it gives me the heebee jeebies just thinking about it!

@StressyMcStressFace. I absolutely agree it gets better using the tape. I used to use floss but found once I’d got going with the waterpik that the chaps between my teeth became wide enough to need tape rather than flosss. I find tape much easier to use but both needed a bit of help and feedback from disclose ing tablets.
