Period cramps. No blood. 1 year after ablation

I had an endometrial ablation last year to ease my horrendous heavy periods. I had a few up and down periods afterwards, then very very light periods since. All good. But for the last 2 months, I’ve had barely a spot of blood, but excruciating period cramps around the time of my period. Is this normal?

I had the same but after surgery for a missed miscarriage. The surgery had caused uterine adhesions which were covering my cervix so the blood couldn’t leave. I could feel I was having a period each month but no bleeding. I think adhesions can result from ablation too

Thank you for your response and sorry about your miscarriage. I think this is what’s happened to me. Been reading up on late onset ablation failure, which is when you scar over and blood can’t leave your body. GP is sending me for an ultrasound

Thank you. I thankfully had the adhesions successfully removed and was lucky enough to have children after. Just from my experience, adhesions can’t always be seen on a standard ultrasound so if they don’t find anything obvious cause then it’s worth pushing for a referral for a hsg or similar. Hope you get an answer soon
