Taking steroid inhaler after tooth extraction

I had a tooth extracted at the weekend. At the time the dentist said not to use a straw for at least a week as the suction can dislodge the clot where the tooth once was. I have mild asthma and use Symbicort as and when needed. Stupidly I didn’t think to ask at the time about inhalers but surely if I can’t use a straw I shouldn’t use an inhaler? Plus I wouldn’t be able to rinse thoroughly enough afterwards I don’t think.

Has anyone had any experience of using their inhaler after an extraction and it either being fine or otherwise?

Can you use a spacer with a mask that goes over your face like children do instead?

I haven’t used one before but my understanding is that a spacer might help with less suction but not the need to rinse afterwards
