DD woken up with it, should I send her to School?

Difficult one. I think the official advice is that she doesn't need to be kept home from school with it, but it can be very infectious.

belgo · 03/06/2008 07:58

I would probably clean her eyes and as long as they weren't bothering her, send her into school.

So bad isn't it because I want to be a responsible parent and stop other kids getting it from her.

She's bound to rub it to get the gunk out in order to see.

but on the other hand you probably don't want her missing school unnecessarily either. And it's not always infectious - sometimes it's a reaction to something - a doctor should be able to diagnose it.

Thanks belgo. Will send her

how old is she? is she old enough to be fairly responsible and try not to rub gunk into everyone else's eyes?

I sent my dd1 (14) to school when she had it, but dd1 stays off nursery

if you do send her, then I think you should mention it to her teacher.

Personally, I think I would keep her off at that age.

cheeset · 03/06/2008 08:28

what to do, will take her and let the teacher decide, thanks guys

seems like a perfect solution

belgo · 03/06/2008 08:30

cheeset · 03/06/2008 08:35

Took DD to school and T.A said not a good idea to leave her. She mentioned they rang a mum to collect her child before half term with same thing. Im surprised as I believe school policy is you can bring kids with conjunctivitus?

Anyway, it's cool as DD is good company and at least she won't be passing on the eye fungus!

I'm surprised at that.
