High Fever Advice Please

I had a fever of 38 last night. It is now at 40C (104F. I took algofren at 1915. It's 2 hours and hasn't dropped. I'm really craving a warm (not hot) shower. Is it a good idea?
My 2 year old had a couple of viruses in the last couple of weeks so I'm guessing I got it from her.

Thank you. I didn't. I got some more messages. It turned out I have strep. Hence the high fever
