Cystitis - how much should it hurt?

I'm fairly sure that it is, but it really hurts although it comes and goes.

It started last night and couldn't move from the toilet for a couple of hours - played scrabble with my dh in the bathroom

It was better this morning but has got worse this afternoon, and is a bit better now. I am taking cystitis relief (yuck), drinking lots and nurofen.

This might be tmi but, my wee earlier today was really yellow and now it is back to normal. The pain comes in waves and normally starts as i end my wee and then radiates out around my pubic bone. Tell me this is normal and will finish soon

This is normal. The worst is probably over. When you wee a lot you get dehydrated and then your wee turns yellower. You need to drink lots. Try cranberry juice, it does help stop it coming back.

It'll probably take two days before it totally goes and stops hurting because your urethra will be inflamed.

Ow ow, yes it's nasty. Went through a spell of getting it all the time. Would give me lower backache at times too. Cranberry juice is good, otherwise try to avoid acidic drinks. The over the counter stuff works to a point, but if it carries on for more than 3 days after doing all the right things, get some anti-Bs.

does sound normal I used to suffer really badly with it. Drink masses of cranberry juice, but if you are taking the cystitis stuff I agree vile tasting and it has not cleared up after 24hrs you prob need anitibiotics.

Use a not water bottle that will help.

you need antibiotics - I'm a nurse trust me, if you leave it too long possibly infection can spread to kidneys! XxX
