Achenbach syndrome

I have been diagnosed with this after a few episodes of spontaneous hematomas in my hands, wrist and even my feet.

My mum actually has this as well so they think it’s genetic but I also have Raynauds (and she doesn’t) and I get severe chillblaines in winter

TBH the achenbach isn’t going to be an issue as in it’s relatively harmless. It’s less scary now I know what it is (the first few episodes were scary as it’s painful) but does anyone else have this and did anything help to reduce the episodes? Sometimes it’s happening as a minor trauma response - so I will bang my hand or foot and then a blood vessel will swell, itch and become painful then ‘pop’ under the skin causing a huge bruise. Does anyone have this alongside Raynauds?

I have had two episodes of the sort you describe (spontaneous painful haematoma), both on my fingers. I also have Raynaud’s. I wondered about Achenbach’s, but they did not recur so I never investigated. Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a link to do with circulation.

I have this and get the bruising on my fingers very often, once had a much larger one happen on the top of my foot.
