I've been to the loo for a poo for almost a week.. drinking loads of water but haven't managed to exercise due to bad weather here.. I'm worried I have impaction
What do I do? Last time I went I had massive poop and hurt so much..
Embarrassed but don't want to take laxative as I'm at work and have to travel on bus.

Ducolease is very good and very gentle, also the suppositories, put one in, lie on your side and wait. If it still doesn't work you will manually have to break it up. Be very gentle about it, but it really works, once the initial part is broken up you will find the rest will follow through.
Good luck, constipation is horrible.

I’d also suggest a chat with your gp if this is a sudden change in your bowel habits and there’s been no reason for it, particularly if you are over 40. If it is just a one off or you know the cause then you hopefully just need more fibre and water. Osmotic laxatives like lactulose and magnesium citrate are often better options as they don’t make the bowel as lazy.

Tesco now sell Movecol sachets which you could only get on prescription in recent time. It works in no time.
