Been sent a bowel screening test marked urgent

I have recently been to a hospital appointment for dermatology. I had bloods done and a chest x-ray on. But in the post came a bowel screening test and they requested it back within 48 hours.

Any ideas on why. No symptoms. I'm under 50.

I'm not looking for a diagnosis. But I'm curious

Thanks

My guess would be your haemoglobin/iron/ferritin levels are a bit low and they want to check if you have any bowel issues causing that.

Don't worry. It's not necessarily cancer. I was referred for a colonoscpy and it turned out to be diverticulitis.

I did one this year after a routine doctors appointment, a few weeks later DH got one but hadn’t been to the doctors in months. I think it maybe routine.

Thanks. That is my guess but I was hoping for things I hadn't thought about. This is my feeling and you have settled me down a bit. Thank you

You are thinking it might be cancer but most tests reveal another cause.
