Im 45 and started HRT THREE WEEKS AGO hoping it would hep but it hasn’t . feeling poor wellbeing, since beginning of the year, frequent illness and feeling unwell despite exercising and eating well and other lifestyle changes. On tramadol for back pain, ( which I think is the root cause) mounjaro for WL (to help with back) since January and tolerated well. Mental health is very poor and low mood as a result of feeling unwell. Frequently very tearful. Have been prescribed a short course of sleeping tablets last week which are helping with sleep but I still feel terrible . Have and upset stomach for 4 two weeks and this weekend constant diarrhoea and severe stomach pain. I have a stressful job and taken a day of work due to the stomach issues but feel like I am having burnout or a breakdown. I am fed up of feeling unwell

my body battery on garmin does not recover and shows I more stressed during sleep than during the day.

I Had Covid from may- August the wiped me out for 15 weeks.

what do I do now. I’ve requested an appointment but don’t know when to start.

With the other stuff you've got going on, I personally would try to deal with things seperately, and get to a HRT specialist so you can quickly and effectively find the delivery and dosage that works for you rather than playing roulette with the NHS and hoping your GP is well informed.

Mj is well known to cause stomach issues. Tramadol can also cause side effects - think you need to try & come off rhem.

Prioritise sleep and fluids whilst you wait for an appointment. Try to get some time off work so that you can properly rest and relax. Life always feels better if we're well rested and hydrated.

Mounjaro can cause stomach issues, even if you initially tolerated it well. It can also apparently cause anxiety in some people, or the anxiety may be work/life related and you may need some anti-anxiety meds to help you cope for a while.

I'd also consider getting a full health MOT asap, even if you have to use a private GP for it, just in case there is something else going on medically.

like pp said, it’s likely the mounjarno, as side effects can be stomach issues and anxiety. What dose are you on? Might be worth stopping it for a bit and seeing if things improve. There are other weight loss brands out there you can switch to if necessary

Oh wow so many helpful comments

I have been trying to deal with it all separately but is so complicated. HRT has been on the cards science feb 2024.l when I first started feeling unwell. The GP message the menopause clinic and was told to prescribe them but didn’t. I saw the menopause GP in aug and she apologised and was equally confused and prescribed them.

My back meds was amitruplyline but switched to tramadol as stoped working. I need to come off tramadol SR and go back on amitrip.

I am awaiting an MRI
MJ I fear I may have to stop. It has come on so suddenly moving to 7.5mg after 9 months of no issues on 5mg. I am near my goal weight now. I will reduce the dose to 5m from this week. But won’t lose any weight I’ve gone from nearly 16 to just over 12 stone.

COVID wiped me about it husband things it was burnout.

its all such a mess and iM tired and fed up and crying all the time. My husband is a PITA and my jobs is stressful but I love it and we have a moved to a new house and have a huge mortgage temporarily until we sell the old house and OMG it’s stressful.

I do want to be drug free now. But I can’t imagine how I can achieve that
