How soon do GPs update your notes

I never get indigestion/heartburn but have had a pain in my chest since July. It has been there most days but not every day and I thought I should visit GP just to check it out. The appt was at my usual practice but with a locum GP. He kept asking me if I was anxious which I didn't think I was but have been worrying about my health a bit lately as have been told I have a fatty liver so maybe it is anxiety. He didn't check my heart or take my blood pressure. He said he would prescribe Omemprazole and that I should take it for 2 months then revisit for another appt. I assumed that the prescription would go straight to my usual chemist but it hasn't and I have just checked my notes on SystmOnline and there is nothing recorded. No notes and no mention of any meds being prescribed. How soon are GPs supposed to update the notes, does anyone know?

Mine is on the NHS app as soon as I'm back home.

I've had notes from locum updated a day or 2 after the appointment - he has to record everything on paper because he couldn't access our surgery's system so someone else had to type stuff up on his behalf.

Worth a call to your practice to see where your prescription is though.

Immediately. I saw the practice nurse on Friday and she was updating the notes there and then while I was talking to her and they were on my record before I’d left the room.

Just updating. 10 days later and still no notes on the system so I called the practice, apparently locums notes don't appear on there. He forgot to do the prescription so I had to call Stellar Health who he works for and they are going to remind him to do it. Don't think I will bother with a locum again unless I am desperate.

You can buy Omeprazole over the counter.
