Boswellia for osteoarthritis?

Has anyone tried this? In desperation (so much pain) I started taking it about 2 weeks ago (in standardised 30% formula) and am wondering whether what I’m experiencing is imagination/placebo/chance or if it really has had more of an effect than amitriptyline & twice daily naproxen (hip osteoarthritis, pain radiating down leg).

I find it difficult to believe anything of the herbal/supplement type could actually have an effect within 2 weeks?

Would be interested to know others’ experiences- particularly if any side effects!

I've no experience of this but I've given up with amitripline, naproxen, tramadol and the million other prescription drugs I've been given. My consultant is now suggesting a ketamine IV drip 😱

Like any other drug - and it's herbal but still a drug - it works for some people and not for others. However "natural" doesn't mean "safe" or "without side effects", so do your research and if you are using any other medication then check with a health practitioner before mixing it.

Didn't work for me but it did for the dog! It's a common ingrediant in dog arthritis supplements.

I had an elderly patient (98!) who came off most other pain relief with this she swore by it….

That’s really interesting. So far I am noticing a real difference but will have to see. Significantly reduced pain so far 🤞.
Would like to recommend to older relatives but as you say drug interactions a concern.
