Please can I have recommendations for multivitamins. Late 40's, recently started HRT, recent blood test showed low iron levels. Thanks in advance

if you have low iron you need more than a multivitamin, but Alive vitamins are good for energy. temp out of stock but do help

If you aren’t veggie then beef liver capsules are good for iron, as is iron bisglycinate. this iron is good

The iron bisglycinate has better bioavailability than prescription iron, and levels increase better if you take on alternate days, rather than every day. I will go and find links but if I try to do it before posting my MN crashes and I lose everything I’ve typed.

It won’t let me edit to add the beef liver capsules to the post above as I’ve gone over the time to edit.

I use berocca & add a sachet of spatone. ( Taking iron with vitamin c helps uptake)

Years ago after I had DD & ended up with a blood transfusion & super low iron 3 months of berocca & 2 sachets of spatone amazed my doctor at the turnaround in my bloods.

There is research to say that taking iron every day is actually less helpful than taking it every other day.

It can make you constipated and have an upset stomach so be aware if that happens to you…

I prefer to take my iron separately from my multivitamin, so I can take the ironn3/4 times a week, not every day. Then take multi vit every day

i find Floradix tonic v good (it’s b vitamins plus iron) and it’s fairly gentle on tummy.
