I think it's sciatica...pain from lower back down to my calf. It really hurts when I stand up after sitting down. DS2 is mimicking my "old lady" walk.

I need a cure.

i had to have lots of physio to shift mine, and then had an injection in my spine- eventually worked!
I now find if I keep active it stays away. But at the time it was hell, so depressing. I would need painkillers all the time, couldn't stand still for more than a few seconds before it started..
See your gp to see if you haven't slipped a disc - that was the cause of mine. You may need a scan and a referral for physio.
Mine was a line of pain from my lower back, that settled in the side of my calf, one specific spot.

It's definately my disc - It's been slipping out since DS2 was born - usually the pain is on the other side, and my back muscles tense up....I have had to ask passing mum to lift DD out of pushchair and put her in car for me But this is new and different.

my back went when i was pregnant - was housebound for a while. It was after the birth that the sciatica started. But with the sciatica my back didn't really hurt much,i just sort of felt that i didnt have such a full range of movement in my hips.
When my sciatica started to get better the physio told me to try pilates, but i found this set it off, so i never went back.
The mri scan was my diagnosis........
