Armpit lumps - freaking out

I wondered whether any medical professionals/anyone who's been through this might have any advice?
I went to my GP a few days ago as I've been getting lumps in 1 armpit that come up and then shrink down a day or 2 later (but don't disappear). They are mildly painful for the first couple of days. I assume this is my lymph nodes and now have several lumps that have come up with red marks (see pic).

I've been referred to the breast clinic for an urgent mammogram, but it's still another 2 weeks until my appointment!

I dont feel unwell or have any other signs of an infection.

I wasn't able to ask many questions when I saw my GP as had my 2 young children with me who pick up on everything.

I'm wondering whether I should be booking private breast screening for this week rather than wait another 2 weeks (would have to borrow money for this). Can anyone with medical knowledge/experience offer any advice please?

I’m not a hcp but I’ve had some experience in this area.
Lymph nodes are deep in the flesh and unlikely afaik to show as red marks. This is more likely to be a cyst or boil. I would just wait for your appointment, it’s unlikely to be anything sinister.
I know that’s easier said than done!

Have you changed your antiperspirant recently? I've had sore lumps in my armpit before from antiperspirants that didn't agree with me

Thank you @trainedopossum I definitely need to stay off Google! Would there be several that keep coming up and going down if it were cysts?

@Momstermash94 I changed to fussy over a year ago and had no problems until now, so don't think its the deodorant causing it

I wonder whether it's Folliculitis?

Hi @Feelingscared9978 sorry to hear you're going through the same. I had my appointment at the breast clinic on Monday. The mammogram came back clear thankfully, but the scan did show that my lymph nodes are enlarged so I had to have a biopsy in my armpit. I have an appointment next Weds to go back for the results and will update on here! Trying to keep myself busy until then!

Had to wait 3 weeks for the appointment then it was meant to be a 10 day wait for the results, but they called me on the day of the appointment and put it back by another week because the results hadn't come back yet. The wait is awful

My skin became so red and i was still getting loads of lumps so I stopped using my deodrant (fussy) to rule this out. My skin calmed down loads so I think the deodrant caused the issues, which is weird as i've been using it for years with no issues!

@Shhhhitsmagic that's good to hear all was well, it's strange how something that was fine before then causes a reaction isn't it? Must be such a relief though
