What is this stomach problem?

I get a pain in the top right of my abdomen at least once a day, sharp and lasts a couple of minutes then resolves, worse when stomach empty. Can't link it to anxiety, had a clear USS of bladder/gallbladder etc. Blood tests clear although monocytes slightly raised. It's a very real pain that can take my breath away but as I say does always resolve. 8 months at least of this now. Could it be an intolerance? Should I try an elimination diet? GP just seems stumped but did tell me to go back if it persists, I just wonder what more they can do. Any suggestions/experiences would be very much appreciated!

Does it feel like your body is trying to suck your abdomen under your ribcage on right hand side? Is it completely incapacitating when it happens? Have you noticed if it only happens when you are sitting down?

Thanks kiwi, first 2 yes but not always incapacitating, it can be though. Not always when sitting down either but it quite often is, that said I have a sedentary job role so more likely to be sat down!

Are you regular or do you tend towards constipation? Only I had pain on and off in the same sort of area and my doc was pretty convinced it was hard stool going round the hepatic flexure (bend in colon). Since upping my fluids for another condition I've had less of an issue with constipation and the pain hasn't recurred..
