Swollen bright red armpit

DH woke up this morning with one swollen armpit (well kind of just under his armpit). We think his lymph node. It's also really bright red.
He does have a bit of a cold too.

Just wondered if this is just something quite normal (although we've never seen it before) or something to worry about. And also is there anything he can do to help it ?

Could be an abscess or boil, but more likely a reaction to infection somewhere in the body. Keep an eye on it and if temp is raised or other symptoms show, go to GP. A course of antibiotics might be needed if the swelling is infected.

Not pleasant, but hopefully all will be well.

Has he changed deodorant? Mine were bright red, swollen but not itchy after using Wild deodorant.
