Oesophagitis

Hi all
Those taht have had oesophagitis may I ask the horribke symptoms you experienced please. Any weord ones that you never thiught would be down to that?

It's often caused by reflux or haitus hernia.
I had it two years ago along with gastritis. Nausea, heartburn, abdominal pain, vomiting.
Took six months to clear and still comes back occasionally.

I had it recently during and after taking a course of antibiotics. It felt as if I had eaten something without chewing it properly and it was stuck at the top of my chest.

Fortunately it didn’t last long (a couple of weeks at most).

@LilacRos thanks for your comment.i do have bith reflux and hh. They said it was mild oesophagitis above hernia.i wss on pantoprazole for quote a few months or so but have had to wean off due to levels dropping with b12 etc. Seem to be having so many issues still and wonder if it may never have healed. I wakeup frrlinf like throats closing, tightness in throat and chest. Weird pressure feelinf in chest breathless etc

Yes, breathlessness, pressure in chest and palpitations too... was quite scary! It took 7 months + of max dose of esomeprazole and famitidine to get it under control.. plus no wine, no tomatoes, nothing acidic.

I'm still on meds !
