Why do I get these sore bits

Why do I get these sore tastebud bits on my tongue? The white bit. Had loads this year

Transient lingual papillitis. They can be white or red. Mine are bright white when I get them. They really hurt!

They can be related to viral infection, food allergies, stress, hormone fluctuations, some toothpaste/mouthwash etc. Maybe keep a diary of what mouth products you use and a food diary to see if there are any triggers?
rinsing with saltwater, avoiding spicy/acidic/sugary food & drink and taking ibuprofen can help.
