Norethisterone to delay period

Hi, has anyone taken Norethisterone to delay their period? I’m due to go overseas in oct and my period is due the day I depart. i wanted to take the tablets for two weeks in sept to push my October period later as I didn’t want any side effects on my trip. My doctor said take them whilst I’m on the trip as my next cycle might be unpredictable. Would love feedback on side effects and if you took them a month before trip or big event, when did your next cycle start (not the one that comes a few days after stopping the tablets) thank you

I used them for the first time this year while I was on holiday. Several relatives have used them during previous holidays. I can be intolerant to progesterone so was concerned I would experience low mood but I had no side effects whatsoever. None of my relatives have reported side effects either other than (by the end of a 2 week holiday) feeling bloated

Yes, have taken this on several holidays - in fact currently taking it now! No obvious side effects and works as it should. Next period after the “delayed” one was my exact cycle length away.

My daughters both take it, does as it should with no ill or lasting effects.

I took it last year and my period still arrived. What is worst, is that it lasted 19days (it was not heavy but I still needed to wear a pad). It is not effective for everyone.
However, it worked wonders for three people I know, including my sister. Hope it works for you.

DD took it while we were on holiday with no ill effect. She was worried about hormonal headache (she is prone to these) but was fine, she had cramps as usual but did not get her period until exactly 72 hours after the last tablet. It was such a weight off for us!

Sorry to jump on but how do you get this medication? Am I likely to need to see my GP as I have medical history?

I have used it several times, it is fine as long as you start taking it early enough.

It is available via pharmacies, you don't need a GP appointment. Somewhere like Asda or Superdrug online should be able to do it for you.
