Different labs have different sensitivity but less than 4.0 is considered normal so you are well below that. Why don’t you trust what the doc is saying?

StealthMama · 24/08/2025 20:08

The normal range states it is 0.0- 10 and your results are 0.2. So this is a normal result.

Thank you all.

Only because its on the lowest bit of the range…I have had issues with diarrhea for a couple years, and wondered if it was connected and whether there was any point in speaking to the doctor.

I had a result of either 40 or 70 (can’t remember which now) on that test and was told no further action was needed, so I’d say it’s fine. I think I read the result would need to be much, much higher to indicate an issue

Whatatodo79 · 24/08/2025 21:01

Completely normal. A low result has no meaning other than you don't have coeliac disease

feelingfedup2024 · 24/08/2025 21:08

Thanks for your help everyone x

Had you been eating plenty of gluten in the run up to the test? It's a negative test for coeliac disease but you can get false negatives if you haven't been eating gluten daily for several weeks before the test.

Overnightoatsareyummy · 25/08/2025 21:08

This is normal. The most important thing around doing these blood tests is your consumption of gluten. If you haven’t been eating at least 2 slices of bread for at least 2 weeks prior your blood tests, then your results can be a false negative.

I had this but was convinced it would be positive for gluten intolerance. I am allergic to something but they don’t know what it is.

I think you need to read the difference between allergies and intolerances. It might help understand your symptoms better. Meaning this kindly.
