I started taking these yesterday and felt really awful quite soon after so assume it is a reaction to them. I do have a few red spots come up too would this also be a reaction? I am stopping taking them but this is strange, Originally I was given them for sore throat and chest infection.

They do make you feel pretty crappy anyway but yes the spots could be a rash.

maybe go back to doctor and ask for a different one?

I had clarithromycin for a chest infection and I had to call my GP the following day as I had terrible nausea all night and also strangely insomnia which is a listed side effect. The GP said she would swap my antibiotics for a different one as there would be no way I could tolerate that for the full course, she then marked me as allergic to them just to make sure I never get them again.

I don't have any other allergies and I've had different antibiotics since a kid with no issues before, but those clarithromycin were dreadful for me.

Hi I am taking these right now for sinus infection, yes I felt nauseous, light headed and also heart palpatations which concerned me I posted on this site, so yes G.P said side effects but should get better over next few days, they have, I eat before taking them and have a glass of milk, appears to have done the trick, as I have another 6 days on them.

I called my GP and got amoxillin instead. Feel much better. I felt so bad on the clarithromycin for a day after stopping too.
