What could be wrong with me

Hi
I am 37 years of age and for some time now I haven,t felt right in myself.
I sometimes feel too hot, and it really makes me feel ill at the same time, then sometimes I feel cold.
I also at times feel a bit sick, and woozy.
I also feel very tired most of the time and get headaches.
Another thing is that I feel like I am having palpitations through my body, like I can feel my heartbeat, this feels worse when I have exerted even when just getting up and walking to the kitchen.
For some reason my symptoms have felt worse this week.
I do suffer from a underactive thyroid which wasn,t under control on my last check with a tsh of 19.
I sometimes feel as though I try to do a task that requires a certain amount of exertion, and my body is incapable and then I start to feel the palpitation like symptoms.
Could my underactive thryoid be doing this.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you had a blood test to check whether you are anaemic? That could cause some of your symptoms.

maidamess · 29/05/2008 22:35

OMG you have just described EXACTLY what I have been feeling all week.

I went to the docs about it and started a thread because I was worried about my heartbeat.

He gave me an ECG and said my beat was irregular...but gave me antibiotics cos I have a 'chesty 'feeling, kind of tight in my chest when I go upstairs.

Have you been to the dr?

pavlovthecat · 29/05/2008 22:36

Stress can make you feel like this.
Are you stressed at all?

maidamess · 29/05/2008 22:38

I've just looked up underactive thyroid online and I fit about 80% of the symptoms.

ifeelstressed · 29/05/2008 22:40

My thyroxine was last upped on the 11th of April when my tsh was found to be 19.
I think I probably need to get my tsh checked again to see if its improved.
Maybe my thyroxine needs upping again.

I had thought of anaemia, but I don,t look anaemic at all.

I did mention it once to the doctor and I was given a glucose test to check for diabetes but it came back okay.

pavlovthecat I do get stressed very easily about silly little things.

I had thought about an ecg.
I am worried in case my doctor thinks I am paranoid if I go and suggest one.

Don't worry about being thought of as paranoid. Go and ask. I'm paranoid I've got under active thyroid now. I'm going to make a dr's appointment again if my palpatations continue, as he did mention blood tests to check for thyroid activity.

ifeelstressed · 29/05/2008 22:53

maidamess

Can you describe your palpitations to me to see if what I am getting is similar.
I honestly don,t know what to make of my symptoms.
How old are you.

I am 38. And my heart is beating 3 short beats...then a pause then a 4th...then 3 short etc etc.

I have been feeling hot on and off with it, and just tired and off colour really, no appetite, a bit sick..

But I thought it was the remnants of a cold making me feel crap, and my increased awareness of my heart was my body fighting infection.

maidamess · 29/05/2008 22:58

ifeelstressed I have to go to bed now..knackered! Please let me know if what you feel is similar to me...we can compare notes! It might be viral, whoknows?

still here (I can never just go to bloody bed, no wonder I feel like shit) I will get him to test me, as it may explain lots of things!
xx

ifeelstressed · 29/05/2008 23:07

I am currently on 75mg and then 50mg alternate days.
I don,t understand why I am feeling like this.
My thyroid was overstimulated at one stage that was when I was on 75mg every day.
It was then cut to 50mg and then 25mg alternate days this was when my tsh went down to 19.
I would have thought the dose I am on now would be just right.
In all honesty I feel worse at the moment than I have ever done.

I have looked up anaemia online and some of my symptoms certainly sound like it.
I may mention it to my doctor.
I do have an appointment tomorrow morning.
