Broken Arm - Advice needed please

Just spent 2 hours at A&E with ds aged 3 and his broken arm. DS is autistic and found the whole xray and then plastercast experience very traumatic. I feel like a G&T myself now he's asleep!!!

I wondered on average how long arms take to heal - he has a fracture just above the elbow by the way. Obviously it will depend on the child but on average what are we talking? Also will preschool still let him attend or will it invalidate their insurance?

6 weeks standard. Probably less in a 3 year old depending on type of #.

I'm sure he'll be fine to go to pre school.

The younger they are the quicker they heal, a child this young it should only take a couple of weeks. They will probably need to X-ray it again though to make sure it's healed properly.

age three will be healed in 2 - 4 weeks. Maybe quicker. Might not need plaster at all. Wait and see what fracture clinic say.

Pre school should be fine, but obv, you'll have to ask them!
