Can't tolerate the heat

As the title says, I can't seem to tolerate the heat anymore. I've noticed it over the past couple of years. When it's 30 degrees plus I feel weak, lethargic and generally lack energy. I've been in Spain the past 2 weeks in the heatwave and it's been 38 degrees. I can't go for walks in town because it's too hot but my husband it absolutely fine and it results in fights as he doesn't understand how I feel and he wants to do more sightseeing.

When I was younger, up to about 38 years old I was fine in the heat and I could tolerate heatwaves etc but I can't now.

I'm now 43. Could this be peri or something else? Such as thyroid issues? Or is it normal to not be able to tolerate heat in 30 degrees?

No other health issues except anemic due to heavy periods and ferritin of 15.
Thanks.

I dont like heat i love the winter time.
As soon as the summer starts so does my migraines.
I was all good until i hit 37 for some reason.

I wouldn't be able to walk in that heat and even in my 20s I was the same. I remember trying to sightsee in Southern Spain and barely taking anything in.

Its the body's way of telling us not to overdo it imo.

Anything over 20C and I am f*cked. I don't tolerate heat and never have as an adult.

And your DH can have that...🖕 to walking in heat.

Thank you, I was starting to think it was just me that felt like like!

I personally wouldn't choose to go to a warmer country in the summer months or go out walking at that temperature. I don't know if it's normal but a lot of people try to limit their activities at warmer temperatures.

You are perfectly normal. We are not used to 30d at all coming from a temperate climate. Don't get me wrong, heat is lovely - when you're lying on a sunbed in the shade and dreaming away all your cares and woes, but any activity in that heat is just not sensible to say the least of it. Your DH is an outlier.

Why do you think the native populations of these countries don't venture out until the sun goes down, and otherwise live in the dark with the shutters down all day. They know.....

You will get no prizes for sunstroke.
