Narcolepsy naps

Is there anyone else with narcolepsy who can help me?
My napping is currently a bit out of control but I’ve got a lot going on and don’t think that’s helping. For instance, I fall asleep instantly after work for probably half an hour (literally have no choice) but I have late afternoon/evening responsibilities and when I wake from my nap, I feel like I’m trudging backwards through treacle. My whole body is fatigued and my brain just wants to sleep more. It’s making it really difficult to do my evening things.
I’ve tried not napping after work but I can’t fight it.

I feel like I’ve got into a bit of a rut and it’s hugely impacting my life. I don’t let this ridiculous condition take over, but at the moment I just feel like I want to slip into a coma or something.

My issues generally stem from too much REM sleep.
