Hot flushes after 60

Hi I am 63 and still getting hot flush type symptoms, also breast pain and soreness on and off. Had a mammogram and its clear, seen doctor since and further examinations are fine.

Does anyone else get hot flushes after the menopause? I know it's been very hot recently but even on cooler days I can start dripping with sweat.

You will because you still don't have sufficient oestrogen. Menopause doesn't end sadly.
HRT would likely help - have you considered or tried it?

Have the hot flushes ever stopped or improved at all since being postmenopausal?

I feel like menopause permanently breaks your thermostat. I don't get flushes like I did for a couple of years in my 50s when I had about 20 a day. I just get inappropriately hot. In bed or having a hot drink.

After a lifetime of being a cold person I'm always too hot now.

I think this is one of the reasons so many women of a certain age wild swim. It's the only time I ever truly feel cool.

Thank you for your replies.

The hot flushes did ease a bit in my late fifties but now I can have sweat dripping from me even when the weather isn't hot.

I tried HRT when I started the menopause and it didn't suit me so I came off it.

Does anyone have painful breasts? Although my recent mammogram was clear and my GP has since examined me thoroughly and said there's nothing to worry about and gave me some anti inflammatory tablets for it my breasts are still hurting.
