Covid risk?

Monsterhighlandcow · 16/08/2025 15:48

I had covid about ten weeks ago. It makes me unwell but not awfully unwell. Worse than a cold, not as bad as flu.

My girlfriend has just tested positive and I’m due to see her tonight but I am meant to be taking my children away on holiday at the end of the week.

She thinks I’ll be fine to see her as usual but I am worried in case I catch it just in time to take my kids away. I’d probably still manage but I’d definitely feel under the weather.

I’ll probably still be immune?

Probably yes
but no WAY would I risk a holiday with my children for a night with my boyfriend

stichguru · 16/08/2025 15:52

Keep away from her

Muchtoomuchtodo · 16/08/2025 15:55

I’d be careful to not mess up the holiday and not meet her tonight.

This has posted twice 🙄

I feel like I’m being overly cautious. Equally I’m the only adult with my kids so if I’m sick it will not be much fun!

I can’t believe you’re even considering

Dabberlocks · 16/08/2025 16:12

When did you last see her? If it was fairly recently, then she was probably already contagious.

Monsterhighlandcow · 16/08/2025 16:14

I saw her a few days ago. So it’s true, I may already have been exposed. But I can’t do much about that now. It’s whether I risk further exposure.
ChatGPT puts me at 50% immunity at ten weeks from the previous infection.

Id have thought it was higher than that tbh.

🙄
you will see her

DemonsandMosquitoes · 16/08/2025 16:25

I’ve currently got it for the second time in three months. I feel really rotten. Stay away.

Mandarinaduck · 16/08/2025 16:27

I wouldn't risk it.

Monsterhighlandcow · 16/08/2025 17:02

Yeah maybe it’s too much risk. 😬

I know, right?! Hi darling, here’s a going away pressie for you, your kids and the people you meet on holiday! You might end up losing your job or health or just simply having less of a good holiday …but you got to see ME!

amylou8 · 16/08/2025 18:16

Nope definitely not. She can keep her germs to herself. Have a lovely holiday.

is she always so selfish??

Othersnotsomuch · 16/08/2025 19:36

I would put a lot of money on the girlfriend whining at the Op
and the OP scurrying over

Pretty sure this OP has posted about this girlfriend before. Unemployed? Gaslights?
