Took my children to the beach today, they went into the water only to just below their knees, no head dunking or in their eyes mouths etc. They were only in there for about 20 mins when they started to put up warning signs that there may have been a sewerage leak but the man couldn't tell us for sure he just said a precaution and he thinks it was way out but due to the tides etc he had to issue the precaution.

I obviously grabbed mine out of the water, raced home and scrubbed them in the bath etc. they won't get ill will they as they didnt swallow anything or get near their mouths?

I am just catastrophising and so panicked I feel sick!

What do you think is going to happen?

PullTheBricksDown · 15/08/2025 17:57

I can't see them being ill from paddling.

Thank you, I am just terrified of them getting poorly. My friends son was fully swimming so I ought too get a grip, unfortunately my health anxiety comply overrides any rational thinking and I get in my own thoughts!

If it didn’t go in their mouths they should be absolutely fine.
