Butterfly rash?

I haven’t felt “well” for a while. Always tired, nauseous, sometimes achy. Put it down to being single mum with 2 jobs and not drinking enough. Recently I’ve started noticing my face sometimes goes red (see pic) it feels tingly just on the area that is red. I’ve had other symptoms too that dr Google has said could be lupus… obviously I know only a rheumatologist can diagnose me but before I waste the time of a gp I wondered if anyone else thought this rash looks that way?

Well it could be but equally not everyone with lupus has the butterfly rash (I don’t). Best thing you can do is talk to your Gp and let them do some tests that will help screen for lupus. Depending on the results of this they may refer you to a rheumatologist.

I mean, it could equally be rosacea.

I think do as PP said and get tested, a bit of trial and error

Lupus rash is different - less symetrical Could be rosacea

Go and see your GP but my first thought was roseca.

I have lupus. Is the rash in the folds of your nose?

It looks like the rash goes right up to the edge of your nose which would be unusual for lupus. Mine completely spares my whole nasolabial fold so I end up with a rash free line around the folds of my nose and running down between my lips and cheek (aka in the folds)

I also thought Rosacea.

I don’t think so?

Doesn't look like lupus to me. My doctor said he could tell it was lupus and not rosacea due to how typical it was, completely avoided nasolabial fold, had a raised edge. No harm in getting it checked out but I wouldn't be immediately worrying about lupus.

Looks like your skin is reacting to something you're using. Do you have a very in depth skin care routine? Perhaps what you're using is too much for your skin.
