Bowel issues !!!! Help!

Hi everyone, wondering if anyone has had anything similar. Obviously not looking for a diagnosis just anyone's stories that were similar. I had a scan back last year and have possible adenomyosis. My GP rang me this may and randomly said I had fat wrapping on my small.bowel and so she would like to do some tests. I had a FIT test which was negative for blood in stools and then she asked about crohns. I said my nan had it and she wanted to do a fecal calprotectin test to rule that out. This came back bordrline at 84 and so I've just done a follow up this week at 186!!! I was not expecting this!!! And now I'm freaking out. My bloods are fine and Crp normal. Slightly low end of normal for ferritin. I'm really worried it could be something serious. Has anyone had this or anything similar. I was more focused on my ovary situation as I get bad ovulation pains and so this has thrown me a bit of a curveball. I don't have any prominent symptoms, sometimes a little bloated and sometimes have 2 or 3 poos a day with a little cramping/discomfort after but this isn't every day and wouldn't have really thought about this. Sorry for all the information xx

My calprotectin came back over 600 and they thought it was crohns. I had a colonoscopy nearly 2 years ago that didn't show much, apart from a poylp that was removed and tested, it was clear for cancer. I'm still having tests now, my next test is on my small bowel as endoscopy showed what looks like coeliac disease, but my antigen blood tests were negative. Hope you get some answers soon, try not to worry.

How are things now? Has the doctor ordered anymore tests?

Calrptectin a bit lower at 108 x

Still quite high though, are they going to refer for more tests?

Panickyperson1 · 19/08/2025 16:00

Apparently this os a borderline result??? Test again in 4 weeks ans then make decision!!!? I have no idea as I have very little symptoms x

I guess they could say that's its borderline. I thought anything over 50 was high. Have they check stool samples for infections and have they done a ttg blood test to rule out coeliac?
