Please help me with this pain, I dont know what it is and dont know whether it will blow over or if I should go to the doctors?

Pain started yesterday morning, stabbing pains in my stomach, feel like I have been hit/kicked.
Today, came home from work because hurt so much, been in bed most of the day. If I lie down and feel my stomach, the pain is on the right hand side, below the belly button and in all that area down to my groin.
Help - what could it be?
have had a poorly tummy since yesterday night, and I have been sick twice today, but I had the pain before being sick, so not pulled muscles iyswim

I read an article re appendix and it said "a woman may have to have a vaginal exam" eeek. Maybe being on my period will mean I don't have to have one of those knew they'd come in handy one day!!

Appendix or ovarian cyst. Could be trapped wind - lets hope so eh? Hope you feel better soon - I had a similar go of it (was ovarian cysts in my case) a few weeks back.

doc said it could be either appendix, stomach flu or ovarian cyst but sort of rule that out because I'd never had any trouble in the past.

theybrule outveverything as appendicitis is hard to diagnose. They rule out gynae probs. Colon probs and them assume appendicitis sometimes they scan you to check. Mind ruptured just as they operated... I was very lucky good luck x x x

DD2 had a full abdominal and gynae scan - they found nothing much except an enlarged lymph node. They couldn't find an appendix. According to the kind of senior surgeon (registrar but not the scarey consultant), many appendectomies used to be done unnecessarily because so many things mimic appendicitis. And they are nasty if they burst so they wanted to avoid that. I hope Elf is doing OK!

stleger both times I have had it, I was prepped for theatre before they called a halt and said it was mesenteric adenitis!
I only seem to get it every 12 years or so, so I do feel for your dd2! How old is she?
I was 10 the first time...

DD is 11, she is 'trying homeopathy' at present as nothing else to try really! It seems to kick in at pre teen, as does appendix. Any sign of Elf?

last night was used as a pin cushion as it took 5 attemptsto get bllood including in my leg
got a scann tomoz they thought gallstone now back to appendix
ave been starved alll day
missing my 2 yr oldlike mad, want to go home
husband going to london on mon for 3 weeks and i have myexams in 2 weeks
this could not come at a worse time!

so far the plan is that my dh is going to stop at my parents tonight with dd [who hasnt stopped crying "i want my mummy" since they left last night] so that he can head off to manchester tomorrow to finish the job he is on, and dad [retired] will take dd to the cm and pick her up. my parents and dh;s dad/stepmum are all able to help out - i@m just worried about dd, we have only had 2 nights away from each other before, another hospital stay for me, and she was incredibly upset and clingy, in fact only really just got her back in her own bed, bless her

elf, you poor thing, hope your doing okay. your DD will be okay and she needs a well mummy.
GGirl they still stick fingers up bums.. I had it done last year, and they ultra sound and take lots of blood.

DD2 reckons you should only have blood taken by phlebotomists! You get to know hospital systems very quickly. Hope your dd is OK, my dh is away and dd2 is back in my bed. She is 11....

well was scheduled for camera in tummy op last night but got cancelled at miidnight, cue first food since wed, yummy ham sandwichh!
was told op would be today but woke up with no pain so i asked if op necessary, so not done
not let out due to temp of 37.5!?!

Oh dear hope the pain does pass and you wont need surgery.Bet you were very hungry.You might still need to have appendix checked out.It could be dangerous if appendix burst.I am sure the hospital wont let you out if you are not fit and well.Good luck xx
