Random plasma glucose level

Obviously I will talk to my GP when I can get an appointment, but I had a random plasma glucose level of 8.4 in recent blood tests, and it's been flagged as abnormal and speak to gp. My Hba1c is normal at 28. Does anyone know what sort of action they might take, if any please?

Unlikely they will do much, perhaps retest. A one off 8.4 if you have just eaten or perhaps had an infection is not that unusual.

Thanks - it was about 2 hours after my porridge and bananas. So maybe that's why?
