Infected mosquito bite?

Bite is TINY. Only a few mm. Has a red ring around it, again only very tiny, and it looks like it has a bit of pus in it. It looks like a tiny pimple but has been there for two days and the skin around it is boiling hot. Wouldn't it have got bigger of it was infected? I can't do much tonight but does anyone know anything I can do to stop it getting worse? I know, this isn't the best place to ask but I can't really do much else tonight!

Everything you need to know is here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/insect-bites-and-stings/

Some people DO react strongly to bites (I'm one of them!) and get a large inflamed ring around them before they eventually go down. If you have any anti-histamine cream or hydrocortisone cream at home you can try that.

Or ice if nothing else.
Pharmacy should be able to help as a first port of call tomorrow.

My medicine drawer is looking slightly sparse, but will try and antihistamine tomorrow if it hasn't gone down. It's driving me nuts!!

I know this sounds weird, but as a stop gap, if you dont have any antihistamine cream for tonight, try some toothpaste dabbed on it.

That for me would be a standard reaction to any bite. The skin can get inflamed and hot, it’s natural. Draw a ring around the redness and see if it spreads. Also watch out for ‘tracking’ - long red streak from the site.

Nothing like this, but my ankle is quite red. I get bitten all the time and never react badly to anything. Skin of nails!
