UTI Ugh

So I have woken up with a UTI. I've given it a couple of hours whilst downing lots of fluids, and a couple of paracetamol but no joy. I tried using Boots Online doctor but no joy - they aren't open today to pick up any prescriptions. My nearest out-of-hours pharmacy is an hour drive away, and I can't go that long without dashing to the toilet.

If I call 111, and manage to get an out-of-hours appointment, do you think the hospital pharmacy will fulfil the prescription, or will I still have to drive an hour to the out-of-hours pharmacy do you think?

I can't believe it's so hard to access a pharmacy on a Sunday!

From my own experience I don't think a couple of hours is anything like long enough to give it to clear itself. Personally I'd just keep downing the paracetamol and lots of fluids and go to the pharmacy first thing tomorrow morning.

Is there a supermarket pharmacy nearer?

Ooh - you superstar. I had assumed they would come up on the NHS Pharmacy Finder, but according to a quick google, it looks like my loca Tesco's pharmacy is open today! How strange they aren't included in the NHS finder.

I'll give it until mid afternoon then go along there if needed. Fabulous, thank you!

I would go there now as most will close early afternoon as it's Sunday

111 can possible send a referral to the pharmacy as well if it comes up at the end of the assessment. I would call them now

I'm actually feeling a bit better - sitting under a heated blanket (yes, I know it's July) and lots of cups of tea are helping. I'm definitely not 100%, but it's much better than it was this morning. I think I'll give it until the morning as a PP said, and then at least I'll have options of a few pharmacies. (Fingers crossed I don't regret this decision at 2 a.m.!)
