Intermenstrual bleeding for 3 weeks

Has anyone ever had this, bright fresh blood not like a period, it did taper off at the end of 3 weeks now with dots of pink blood. I'm 41, cycles getting shorter gradually. My gp is very dismissive and just cancelled my appointment as I think she has labelled me as an annoying patient, has anyone else had it? At a loss as what to do next and starting to feel llike I did when I was very anaemic another time.

Yep. Peri played havoc with my periods in my early 40’s.
5 weeks of bleeding or periods every two weeks or missing periods for a couple of months. Awful.
If it’s a first event the dr is likely thinking ‘watch and wait’ as they wouldn’t refer or anything for a first or one off occurrence tbh, although an examination or swabs would be reassuring I suppose. is there a practice nurse you could book in with to discuss or request swabs to rule out sti/infection for peace of mind? Or a local sexual health clinic?
