Hi! I had a tooth removed Monday evening and followed all aftercare but is this dry socket, its quite painful even with paracetamol seems as its not even been 48 hours but im not sure if thats normal or not!
I’m hoping not because I had to do a three hour round trip to the Dentist which wasn’t fun with two small children! thank you

Ouch, that looks painful! I remember being terrified of dry socket developing after I had 4 teeth extracted prior to orthodontic work, especially as the clot fell our really quickly.

I'm honestly not sure if it's dry socket, or not but could you ring your dental practice and ask if you could email the photo over for someoneto look at?
I found paracetamol useless after my extractions. What I found most effective was Nurofen Express (little bright red, squishy tablets). They were the only thing that eased the pain.

Hope things start to improve soon.

I had dry socket after wisdom teeth removal...absolutely brutal! Went back to the hospital and they dressed it medically which was instant relief. Important to have it checked out asap so as not to cause further infection into your jaw. Good luck.

If it's a dry socket you will know..I had one after a tooth extraction and the pain was brutal, unlike anything I've ever known. Get back to the dentist and they'll dress it with a special dressing. Mine lasted about a week and I will never ever forget the pain and I've had a baby and have gallstones and dry socket pain tops both!

Dry socket was horrible. Having my tooth extracted unexpectedly was worse (I thought a filling had fallen out and in fact I had cracked my tooth in half by grinding in my sleep).

Honestly I've had a lot of shit happen in my life but that is in top 10 worse experiences.

OP go to the dentist first thing. Make sure you are seen. Hope it goes ok.

My understanding from when I had mine out a few months ago was the dry socket was when the clot completely came out and the hole was really deep. But that some visible white tissue in the hole could be normal. Yours doesn’t look like it goes really deep. But I’m not a dentist!
