Hey guys anyone else dealing with these? I'm wondering if it's due to low deficiencies. Its scaring me so much I literally feel like my body is shutting down and im dying

Are you managing work? Are you parent?

Have you actually been for blood tests?

PolyVagalNerve · 20/07/2025 12:28

I used to have it as a stress response
I don’t get it now I take escitalopram

Lilxa89 · 20/07/2025 12:38

@Inthecafe hey. Yes am a parent. Have had so many tests done. Mri on head neck spine, ct of the whole aortic valve, echo, heart monitors, seen a cardiologist lots and lots. All come back normal apart from low vit d etc and other things are on low end which dr keeps classing as normal but others on gb grous say otherwise
My results are:
Ferritin 14
Vit d 34 (just come up from 21)
Folate 3.7
B12 247
Transferrin 11%

Likely to be stress
there’s a good book - overcoming derealisation and depersonalisation

Lilxa89 · 20/07/2025 12:43

@PolyVagalNerve how would you describe it qhen you were experiencing it? It comes on so random and scares me so much. I've not been back to work since October:(

For me, low folate levels caused that sensation. Look up NICE guidelines on folate and vit b12...they would say at your levels if you're symptomatic you should take supplements to increase.

givemeanother · 20/07/2025 13:08

And your ferritin is low too...

I would feel nauseas
jelly legs and visuals would go weird like I wasn’t in reality like in a dream - terrifying
and the worst was the depersonalisation where I would see myself looking down on my body - horrific
I would get diarrhoea at these times and feel shaky and like I was going absolutely insane

Confusedcookie · 20/07/2025 13:37

Have you had any bumps to the head before it started?
I fell from about 5 foot last year, broken bones, lost consciousness and had some amnesia - hospital wouldn't scan my head despite this so unsure if there was any minor damage that self resolved or if it was all a coincidence. But from then onwards I had what I think is derealization, I'd feel like I was either dead and watching what was going on around me, or that I was in a coma and the noise was going on around me and someone was trying to call my name and wake me up. Terrifying when it happens. The episodes got less and less as time went on and now it's 14 months since it's happened and I've not had an episode in about 5 months, but they were really frightening when they were happening frequently.
I hope you're able to tell someone about it in real life and they can support you.

So low deficiency is unlikely given your blood results

what is your lifestyle like? Work? Exercise? Diet? Weight? Get out in fresh air lots? How long have you felt like this?

I was asking the op who says not worked since October

Please have a look at
The Iron Protocol fb page. You will find lots of support on there. Your ferritin is low, despite what most medical professionals will say.

Nettleskeins · 20/07/2025 22:02

Your vitamin D levels are still very low for summer months. The shaky depersonalised feeling was definitely a thing for me with deficiency/ insufficiency. I was also hypothyroid, I found out. Stress was caused by all the add ons to being insufficient . Tired ess, feeling muddleheaded and all over the place don't exactly make you feel very relaxed!
