Has anyone had a private MRI scan with Vista Health?

Are they legit? Safe?

I'm considering getting a private MRI of my abdomen and pelvis, mostly for peace of mind. My GP recommended Vista for a breast MRI but I ended up booking one through the NHS, so never used them.

(I have both health anxiety and the BRCA2 gene - not a great combination.)

I've definitely used them and they're fine. I am sure the NHS co-opts them as well as have had NHS scans at Vista clinics.

Yes I did nearly 6 years ago.
It turned out to be the best £450 I have ever spent.
I had the.scan because of ongoing back pain, my GP refused to refer me for a NHS scan.
The scan showed no obvious cause of my back pain but picked up a growth in my stomach.
5 weeks later I had major abdominal surgery with a full hysterectomy and the removal of 2 ovarian cysts one of which weighed 50lb!! 😳

Yes, very good experience. Same as above, persistent back pain, doctor refused to refer saying it was pointless and even if they had, it would have been a very long wait.
Every subsequent visit to the GP, they’ve referred to the scans which Vista made available to them.
I can’t remember how much I paid but it didn’t seem outrageous and was worth it to me if only to rule out anything sinister.

Interested in this as I’m considering an MRI for my shoulder. Thanks Op.

Oh gosh, that's not good! Glad it was picked up.

I am at higher than average risk of ovarian cancer, which is one of the reasons I'd like to have precautionary scans. My GP does blood tests but I know those aren't 100% accurate.
