Long lasting home nails

Hi everyone,

I may not be in the right place but I couldn’t see a beauty section…

In short I am looking for a long lasting home nail system.

I cannot use gels cured with a UV light as I had an allergic reaction years ago (admittedly possibly my own fault as got a kit from China and kept peeling it off and redoing it), but still I used Leighton Denny’s UV top coat years later and still had a reaction so think its a no go.

I used all Leighton Denny on my natural nails for years, but that was when I lived with my parents and didnt have much responsibility housework wise 😂, ever since I’ve had my own place I find it just chips so easily.

I loved SNS but times are tough and I just cant afford to go to the salon now. I have tried Kiara Sky and Glamrdip at home and wasnt impressed with either.

Is there a powder dip system at home that does actually last? 2 full weeks would do me, but I cant even get 2 full days at this point.

Any recommendations appreciated! Sorry this has come out much longer than intended…

I use glamrdip which is a powder so it doesn’t need the UV too coat or curing.

There are quite a lot of reviews on Reddit where people say they were allergic to gel nails but fine with dip but I think it’s very much case by case depending on what chemical you’re allergic to.

When I do dip my nails they generally last for two weeks, sometimes a bit longer. It takes me about 90 mins to do them which is a bit of a faff but I just do it whilst watching the tv and normal nail varnish lasts one day so worth it for me.

Actually style and beauty might be a better place for this question

The only thing I have found so far that lasts when doing my own, is using a glitter nail varnish (although you’d have to actually like the glitter look). Can use a clear glitter over a colour, in lieu of a top coat (or you can still add a top coat still to make it smoother). I will add that I haven’t tried home gel nails though. I’ve tried nail wraps and they don’t last and feel like the dip powders look like a lot of faff?
