Itching, no rash

On and off for the last week, or thereabouts, I've been getting spells of incredible itchiness on my legs and arms. I've zero other symptoms, there's no rash and most of the day I'm fine. If it continues into next week I'll see if I can get an appointment with the GP and hopefully get bloods taken.

I'm just wondering could this be linked to perimenopause? I'm only 36 but I've had the odd wee thing here and there that has made me wonder if I'm in the very early stages.

Are you on painkillers or have you spent much time in the sun?

I asked the same question on here a few weeks ago. I do have occasional eczema but never before this intense itching on my body. I think it is hormone related (I am early 50’s).

It's a bit of a red flag unfortunately, your GP will take it seriously. When I had it, I had more vials of blood taken than ever before. It just turned out I was very low in iron. It went away when I took iron Supplements although tbh it was starting to ease off anyway.

@quicklywick no painkillers. I've been out and about in the sunshine a bit this past week but no more than usual and spent most of the time in the shade wherever possible!

@DuskyPink1984 I've not had any confirmation of my hormone levels or anything but I feel like they've been a bit all over the place this year. This just feels like another thing that might be linked to them.

@AudiobookListener I hope they will take it seriously if it comes to it. I've tried to get my iron levels tested in the past when I was exhausted for a couple of weeks and was told the symptoms hadn't been around long enough for testing.

This is interesting. I usually take an iron supplement every day but had been out of stock at home for a while. Now I am back on them the itching has eased.
