Fly bite on my nose

Tinytimmy123 · 15/07/2025 09:03

I have been bitten by a fly ( of undetermined nature) right on the end of my nose. The bite is red, hard and periodically itchy but is quite big, so is my nose but nonetheless.
I have tried ice and steroid cream but the carbuncle remains, 3 days in and no reduction in its size.

This is 100% pure vanity but omg it is embarrassing. All the make up I've tried doesn't stay and only marginally takes the red hot look out of it.

Any tips or tricks appreciated to primarily speed up the healing process and to camouflage it meantime...please.

I think we need a photo.

You could try an antihistamine, I’ve heard horsefly bites are really painful and some need antibiotics to clear infection, you might want to get pharmacist to check it.

It isnt infected, not hot, painful or getting larger.

ELF do a green corrector concealer pen which is good for removing redness in a small area like this. Dab it on and blend. You can get it next day on amazon.

Coconut oil or aloe version gel could be good to try.

It honestly doesn’t look as bad as you described. I’d still see a pharmacist, just in case.

Thank you for the feedback. The picture wouldnt upload at a higher resolution so it isnt very clear.

It is shiny and raised but the makeup dulls the colour, shinyness and the height.

I will give the colour corrector a whirl and hope it stays on as all the make up I have put on seems to have no staying power whatsoever! 🙄
I have an aloe plant and coconut oil in the house somewhere so I will try that too.

I will check in with the pharmacist to see if there are any medications i can add that will at least bring the redness down if nothing else !
Thanks everyone.
