Hi all what symptoms have you experienced with low vit d? My vit d is low aswell as my b12 folate ferritin on low ends. I will put my numbers at the end. I am having so many horrible symptoms I literally feel like im dying at times. I just pray things will get better in time. To top it off I have a bad fear of taking new medication due to a bad reaction in the past. I'm taking sodium feredetate at the moment for my iron but dr won't prescribe folate as said irs normal. They did prescribe vitamin d for 6 weeks and my levels went from 21 to 34 so still low bit told me to just use a spray.also said my b12 is perfect
Vit d 34
B12 247
Ferritin 14
Folate 3.7

Your B12 is too low

I have B12 deficiency and D deficiency, my level was 18 it is now 48

I feel bone pain all over and fatigue

CrowsInMyGarden · 13/07/2025 14:12

When my Vit D was low my bones hurt, mainly in my fingers

WednesdaysChild50 · 13/07/2025 14:18

I have low Vit D and low iron and agree you feel like you’re dying no energy and everything hurts, plus adding the menopause into the mix I feel pretty sorry for myself

I had low everything but super high b12. Felt achy and shattered all the time. You don't need the doctors to prescribe. Get yourself some vitamins. Vit D , folic acid for 4 months for low folate, and get a b complex one. After a couple of weeks you'll really feel the difference, it's amazing

@Devilsmommythankyou gor your reply. It's awful isn't it? What folic acid would you recommend ad fr said he can't prescribe any as golate is normal. Spoke yo pharmacist she said they should've and then said the only one she has is in with the pregnancy ones which I could maybe try but it's a lower dose. It all confuses me I don't have a clue haha. I brought the better you vit d spray but also not sure how to space it all out with wachother. Like if I take my iron and then add in vit d spray, b12 spray and folic acid how would I space them out t take x

I'd just buy the lower dose ones and take two. I don't use sprays, my vit d is tablet form, high strength but I just take them all together. So I take all together vit d, folic, iron, vit c, vit e, cod liver oil and then on the evening a calcium and magnesium one. Pain one arse getting them all together but worth it for how much more human I feel 😅

@Arrrrggghhhhh sorry to hear that. What's your levels? Is it possible to have low levels for years before symptoms starting? My "anxiety" symptoms started back in 2018 after having my youngest and purring me on a horrible medication incase of retained placenta. I passed out but was always told levels were ok apart from folate always up and doen. Then last year I just randomly went dizzy and collpased nearly in garden and had big panic attack and have been awful since. Not returned to work etc due to symptoms. Its only now I've looked into all levels and seems they've always been low. My ferritin has always been between 5-17 in that time. My b12 never been above 300 in that time. Vit d this is first two times being checked and was 21 then 24. My teansferrin is 11% folate never been above 6 unless I went on meds which it increased to 9 x

I’ve been suffering for a year now with anxiety, palpitations, everything really. I’m exhausted and feel like I’m dying at points. You sound exactly like I do! Found out my ferritin level is 5 a few weeks ago and was 8 last year, no one had said a word! I do wonder how many of my symptoms are down to my low ferritin but generally what I have read suggests that they could be. Not sure about your Vit D as mine is ok but I take a high dose every day anyway along with Vit c and folic acid. Really feel for you as it’s just horrible.

Your ferritin is way too low

you need 4000IU vitamin d daily
buy ferrous fumerate (you can get it from an online chemist) and take it every other day with 1000mg of vitamin c
