Infected stitches?

I fell down a flight of stairs on Sunday and got these stitches in my foot. They were healing well, and yesterday I took my son to a farm park. I wrapped it in gauze and bandages to keep it safe. I cleaned them and put savlon on when I got home, but it's 30+ degrees here and I have to wear open shoes.
Today it's more sore, red/purple around, throbbing, there's swelling all over especially in my toes, etc, where it had seemed yesterday as though most the swelling was gone and it wasn't red.
I'm 31-32 weeks pregnant. I've taken paracetamol for the pain but it still doesn't feel right.
Hesitant to go to ae- they made me feel like a major baby for going originally despite needing stitches and losing half a pint of blood and then called me a baby for squealing with the lidocaine. Fought to have the baby even looked at to make sure she was okay. Could try to make a gp appointment. Have had sepsis in the past and would really like to avoid that now.

2- picture today- a lot more swollen
1- picture yesterday a few hours after redness kicked in.

excuse my gross looking feet- I had a pedicure scheduled for this week and now can’t go

I’m not a medical person, but I think you should go and get this checked out. You’ve had sepsis before. You’re pregnant and you need to be taken care of. I’ve also got stitches on a lower limb, and I’ve been reading up on lower limb wounds, they can be problematic. I hope you’re able to rest either way your leg raised, I’m trying to, but it’s hard to make time for it.

I have stitches between my toes and they are causing hell. Started healing nicely then flared up after about 10 days. I went back to practice nurse and have been on anti biotics. To be honest they haven’t helped loads - they seemed to but I’m on the last few in my course and it’s still v v sore. I have been told to go back if no major improvement next week. GP has been very helpful and no one has said anything other than it’s right get it checked.

so please do go to the gp and get them to look. As a pp said, I’ve been told foot wounds can be difficult because of the pressure of standing and not heaps of spare skin. Mine is certainly being a right bugger.

Thank you. It was infected/ I’m on antibiotics now but you’re right in saying they are a bigger bc it throbs when I stand and stand I must! Thank you again

You really shouldn’t have walked around a farm park with a wound that has stitches in your foot. No wonder it’s throbbing and sore… it does look infected yes. I would make an urgent same day GP appointment, you could even see an advanced nurse practitioner at your surgery. No need for A&E.

You’re right I shouldn’t but I also have a super busy toddler who needs exercise and had already bought tickets. What’s done is done
