Conjunctivitis not getting better.

Ds has had this since thursday and been perscribed antibiotic oitment.
This morning it looks terrible all red and swollen and bloodshot and constantly running
What else can I do?

Are you cleaning his eyes regularly? Have you given him his own flannel/towels?

It could be viral, or an allergic reaction, which is why it's not reacting to the antibiotic ointment.

Can you speak to a doctor today?

Cleaning with cotton wool and water.
Ds has got his own flannels due to his allergies anyway.

The only people I can speak to today are nhs direct. Do you think it would be worth ringing.

Yes I think it would be worth ringing. I'd have thought that with the ointment there should be some imrovement by today; it certainly shouldn't be getting worse.

DD2 went down the conjunctivitus last week, doctors prescribed her some drops which have worked a treat.
Hope he feels better soon

Just got back from seeing doctor.
He's not sure what it is but said to stop the oitment because it could be making it worse and to see how it is tomorrow if its not getting better then got to go to eye casualty

He doesn't think it allergic because its mainly one eye.

Glad you got to see a doctor. I thought they would probably tell you to stop the treatment.

Hope it gets better very quickly.
