Repeat blood test

I suffer badly with health anxiety and looking for some reassurance. I attended my GP around 5 weeks ago due to my anxiety being severe she offered me to have bloods done as I hadn't had any for a few years. My results were blood sugar high, low folate and slightly high cholesterol. The GP prescribed me folic acid and face me a plan for lowering cholesterol. Also made me an appointment for repeated bloods. I have been calm until this week as my appointment is in two days. I called today and asked what these are for, she said full blood count and glucose. I'm going out my mind again. Why would they want to do another full blood count? I'm so scared that something is seriously wrong

I work in a medical role. OP- if there something sinister, they wouldn't wait 5 weeks to repeat blood tests! You said in your own OP- that the Dr said they'd make an appointment for a repeat blood test.

When you said 'high sugar' was this an Hba1C test or a random blood glucose test? Repeating a high sugar reading is a common thing. Was the full blood count checked on the original test? If not, maybe they are checking your hemoglobin, given that the folate was low. All these are completely normal.

What support have you had for your anxiety? Please speak to you GP about this x
