So had my blood tested for lots of things due to lots of ongoing symptoms ,have recieved a messaged to say my folic acid is low and to please take over the counter supplements with folic acid , now does this mean take a multi vitamin or take the folic acid tablets advised for pregnancy ? Having looked at my results it seems that my b12 is quite look too but has been marked as normal ,. Would you therefore take folic acid and b12 supplements or a multivitamin to help ? Folic acid has came back at 2.2 and marked as borderline and b12 has come back at 276 and marked as normal

I would take folic acid on its own OR you could check what level is in a multi vitamin and top it up to the max dose with folic acid

Folic acid on its own is 200% rdi and in a multivitamin it’s 100% rdi

I take vitamin b-complex (nutravita essentials I think is the brand, but I doubt it matters) and it has both b12 and folic acid in it. The amount of folic acid in the tablet is the same as in the multivitamins I have, you can buy high strength folic acid which has double the amount. I’d probably take one of the ultra / high strength folic acid which also has b12 in. Amazon will have something suitable. Nutrition geeks or vitabiotics are good.

This is the one I take as it’s a form that’s more easily absorbed

How long did it take until you felt the benifit from it ?

There's no harm in taking B12 separately as we pee out any excess that we don't need. It's always a good one to be on top of. Better You do a spray one that's supposed to be good.
