Splinter under nail

I've noticed today a splinter under my nail. It must have been there a few weeks. I doesn't hurt at all but now I've noticed it I want it gone. Will it work its way out by itself or do I need to see a GP?

attached a pic and you'll probably need to zoom in to actually see it. It's right in the centre of my nail.

I have had this a few times. I trimmed my nail as short as possible I could then either grab it with tweezers or it worked itself out. You are lucky it doesn't hurt. Mine hurt a lot

I think I might try cutting the nail as short as possible and using tweezers. I know I'm surprised it doesn't hurt.
