Rash on leg

What is this rash on partners leg? Anyone have any idea

Looks like a bite. Has he taken antihistamines and used hydrocortisone cream? The pharmacy can prescribe antibiotics now if those don't work.

My DH had this. Think it was a horsefly bite. Gradually spread, so as pp said went to pharmacy who prescribed antibiotics.
Is now clearing up.
